This shall include the general non-sock happenings of October II: Which Turned Out To Be Not Such A More-Better October After All. The other thing that has happened on my knitting needles lately is this sweater:

No longer a swatch, it is now an impressive hill of slightly ordered green Ultra Alpaca. It is also complete to minisweater proportions, meaning that if I get permanently sick of it tomorrow I can cast off and have a nifty-if-useless hooded green bolero.
I’d taken to calling this sweater Swamp Thing, until I found out that every contentiously verdant knit on the intarweb is also called Swamp Thing. I mean, look at this. Yarnageddon, you win this round. I hereby change my sweater’s name to The Big Green, because this kid is awesome:

…especially as a vampire pizza delivery guy. That happened in the X Files.

From late First October until today at precisely 1:30, I was feeling some Big Green Burnout. I decided to engage in something a little bit more instantly gratifying. A hat or a scarf, perhaps? And so, just as Koolhaas is poised to topple Shedir from its many year reign as the internet’s It Hat, I jumped hard on that ol’ Shedir bandwagon.

Not bad, and I really like it in this blue-grey Felted Tweed. I think I heard that Rowan is discontinuing Felted Tweed, and I can’t think of a good reason for them to do that. Rowan, I don’t understand you anymore. I think we’ve grown apart, and I’m taking you off of my buddy list.
Thanks, Mario, for finding the Patrick Renna Vampire photos. This entry would have been useless without them.

Feeling a little blogger-stalkery, but I have to ask if this is you (obviously, I’m referring to the girl named Stefanie):
